Best of the Best: Finance and Investing Edition

21 October 2011

Strictly speaking for me, I have found this past week both long and short. I know, it must sound weird. I had long days, but the week went by quickly as I was keeping myself busy.

However, we have reached the end of the week once again, and that means we have BankNerd’s weekly roundup of the Best of the Best. As usual, the articles listed are what I have found throughout the week, and feel that they deserve to be highlighted.

Our Best of the Best

  1. We were the hosts to the Totally Money Blog Carnival this week. There are a lot of great articles that deserve your attention.
  2. This week we determined the winner of the mobile banking app series; read to find out who won between ING Direct Canada and Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD).
  3. Capital One launched yet another new credit card, the Capital One Gold Plus MasterCard. It is perfect for someone looking to rebuild their credit score.
  4. I found out great news for ING THRiVE clients; ING Direct Canada is making Interac e-Transfers available!

What I read that sparked my interest was “Why Charity is Overrated“; this article does not deter you from donating to a charity, it instead makes it clear you need to do research on what organization you are donating to and figuring out where your money is actually going.

Sensei

My favorite weapon of choice is the samurai sword. I use it to cut my chicken during dinner, cut my hair and periodically carve my name into stone when I am bored. I love meditating on top of a 15ft high pole and eating those sushi’s with smoked salmon on top. I love everything there is about Canada and everything financially related to Canadians. I write deily posts from Canadian Banks to Credit Card information.
