As usual, the winner will be decided upon in three categories, which credit card earns the most rewards, which offers the better travel features and which gives the best bonus.

The RBC starts off by offering Miles (BA Miles), which goes towards international travel. For every $1 you spend, you earn 1 BA Miles; when you spend on flights, you earn double the BA Miles.

With the Desjardin Platinum, you earn up to 2% in BONUSDOLLARS for your purchases. You earn 1% in BONUSDOLLARS for purchases made in Canada, and 2% in BONUSDOLLARS for purchases made in a foreign country.

Desjardin Platinum also offers an additional program, which is 1% annual cashback.

As it offers the better , and a cashback program, the Desjardin Platinum is the winner of this category.

The with the RBC include which includes 31 day out of province/ country medical insurance, auto rental , , , insurance, emergency , and motel burglary insurance.

The included with the Desjardin Platinum include Emergency , , Trip Cancellation Insurance and Common Carrier .

Clearly the winner of this category is the RBC .

We are finally on the third category, which credit card offers the best bonus.

With the RBC you receive 10,000 bonus BA Miles upon enrolment and 2,500 BA Miles for each yearly renewal. You also earn a complimentary ticker whenever you purchase a qualifying round-trip from Canada to anywhere BA flies.

Desjardin Platinum does not offer a bonus at this point in time.

The winner of match is the RBC ; although the Desjardin Platinum might have the better rewards program, the overall cards does not match up with its opponent.
