Today I thought I would give some kind words to Scotiabank to the effort they have been putting out at Scotiabank Caribana 2009.In March 2008 we saw Scotiabank become the title sponsor of the largest North American Caribbean festival. Scotiabank will be the title sponsor for Caribana for 2 years, making Caribana 2009 its 2nd year as the title sponsor.
Last year we saw over 1.3 million people attend and this year will be no exception.
This is the 42nd year running for Caribana, attracting people from all over North America.
Although Scotiabank Caribana is in its last week, one of the main events has yet finish.
The Scotiabank Caribana Parade is on August 1st and will feature a showcase of pageantry and colors. For those who want to see the parade, your best bet is to go down lakeshore and you can watch it all for free.
Scotiabank has done a great job sponsoring Caribana 2009 and I hope they continue to do so in the future; well we will have to wait and see if the contract is renewed.
