Securing My Online Information

28 July 2009

password protection 150x150 Securing My Online InformationI wrote an article today about protecting your online banking accounts, and after writing it I decided to examine all my online accounts and make sure they are actually secure.Shockingly enough, there were one or two passwords which were too similar and I did end up changing them. They were extremely close to my online banking password, so I decided to change most of my passwords, if not all.

I decided to fortify my online banking account by changing the password and as luck would have it I somehow spelled the word wrong. It is my fault that this happened and I called up BMO and had them email me the confirmation again to set up my online banking account.

I must say, the speed of the service from BMO was incredible, especially with the streak of bad experiences I have had from them.

I quickly sorted that out, and even went further to securing my banking account and changed the security questions and answers. This way I have updated my online banking security completely.

Best of all, it took me at most 20 – 30 minutes of my day to do this. I would recommend you spend some time to examine you passwords and find what is similar and change it. You do not want someone to hack into your account because you were careless.

Just a piece of advice, but I hope you take it seriously and follow it through.
